Information You Provide
Search entries
A name or location entered into a search tool is sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. Hampton Busted Mugshots does not store or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages
If you send an email or a message, we may retain the information needed to respond. We do not share that message outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.

How We Use Information
Information collected through the site is used for practical site operations and to make its tools work as intended. We may use it in the following ways.
- Operate and improve site speed, reliability, and usability.
- Send a search request to the partner service chosen by the visitor.
- Measure which pages and features visitors find useful.
- Detect, investigate, and correct technical problems.
- Display advertising that may be relevant to visitor interests.
External Sites and Official Requests
The site links to Hampton Police P2C, the Hampton Sheriff, courts, the Virginia Department of Corrections, and outside search tools. Each destination has its own privacy practices, terms, and records rules once you leave this site. Some advertising partners may measure activity across sites through their own systems.
A request to the City of Hampton or another public custodian is not a request to this private site. The custodian’s process controls those records requests, including the Virginia FOIA procedure in Va. Code § 2.2-3704.
When Information May Be Shared
We do not sell personal information. Information may be made available to limited service providers or disclosed where a valid legal requirement applies.
- Search partners that process a visitor’s query.
- Analytics providers that help measure site use.
- Advertising networks that serve or measure ads.
- Law enforcement or government bodies responding to a valid legal order.
Security Practices
We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information handled by the site. No internet-connected system can be guaranteed completely secure, so we cannot promise that a transmission or stored information will never be accessed, changed, or lost.
